Parker/Sales meeting on July 9

TELL CITY – The Parker/Trade Filters Summer Meeting will be held Saturday, July 9 at 11 a.m. at Patio Steakhouse, 3120 Indiana 66, Cannelton.

Perry County Convention July

PERRY COUNTY – The 4-H Fair returns this month, July 8-11. It’s an exciting time for 4-H members to showcase their work and show off the animals they’ve worked with!

July 23, 2022 marks the first annual Twin Lakes BBQ and Brew Festival. You can expect a BBQ, beers, live music, cornhole tournament, watermelon eating contest, vendors and the official opening of their new event venue!

Magnolia Coffee & Company will also be holding its Cannelton Cruise-In on this date. Live music will be provided by Dakota Hayden (American Idol) from 6-9 p.m. All types, makes and models of cars are welcome. Enter to win a $20 gift card to Magnolia Coffee & Company.

The Farmer’s Market is still held weekly on Tuesdays from 3-6 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m.-noon at the Tell City Depot.

Perry County Beekeepers

PERRY COUNTY – Perry County beekeepers will NOT have a July meeting. Watch for community events for the next meeting on the second Thursday in August.

St. Augustine Drive-In Meals and Raffle July 31

LEOPOLD — St. Augustine’s Catholic Church will be selling its famous homemade chicken dinners at the drive-thru again this year. Dinners will include fried chicken, creek fries, green beans, noodles and coleslaw. Service line begins at 10 a.m. Central Time, please follow the signs. Meals are $12 each with your choice of white or dark meat, cash only payments are appreciated. Homemade desserts will also be available for purchase. Places are available in Leopold Park. Grand Raffle, Half Pot, and Quilt Tickets will also be available for purchase that day or through any member of St. Augustine’s Church.

Building houses with Isaiah 117

CHRISNEY – Isaiah 117 will host a Help Build Hope building event next to the Spencer County Youth and Community Center in Chrisney on Saturday, July 9, from 8 a.m. to noon.

Volunteers will build the walls of an Isaiah house.

Post VFW 2939

TELL CITY – July 9: VFW Post 2939 will retire with a flag removal ceremony behind the flood wall at 10am.

July 16: Doors open at 301 Main St, Tell City from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Sportsman Club euchre July 9

FULDA — The Fulda Sportsman Club will host Euchre on Saturday July 9 at the Fulda Club. Doors open at 6 p.m. CST and play begins at 7 p.m. Refreshments will be available and everyone is welcome!

LINCOLN TRAIL DUVET GUILD

Tell City ARP Advisory Board Meeting

Catholic Charities red, white and boom

TELL CITY – Catholic Charities will hold its red, white and boom drawing on Wednesday, July 13.

Tickets are available for purchase at the Catholic Charities Office at 802 Ninth Street in Tell City.

Must be 18 to participate.

The Tell City Football Club

TELL CITY – Tell City Football Club is delighted to welcome the first kick-off of the Marksmen Football community! The event is sponsored by Dance Haven and Home Mutual Insurance.

It will include a cornhole tournament, silent auction and concessions. Kona Ice concessions will be available. There will also be Marksmen products available for purchase, as well as our discount cards for use at participating community stores.

Come meet new head coach Malin Webb, assistant coaches, players and talk about TC football.

Food, half-pot ticket sales, silent auction and corn hole registration will begin at 11 a.m., with the tournament starting at noon. The entry fee for the Corn Hole Tournament is $10 per person/team $20 with entry per entry and guaranteed place in the tournament. It costs $15 person/$30 team to register on the day of the event. It will be limited to 32 teams.

Half-pot tickets will be $1 each, or six for $5. We will draw the winner at 1:30 p.m., and you must be present to win.

The silent auction will end at 2 p.m. You don’t need to be present to win if you have the highest bid.

Everyone is invited, so bring your family and friends, bring a cooler and chairs if you wish, and come support your Marksmen football team!

Perry Tell City County Public Library

TELL CITY – On Tuesday, July 19, the “Garland Making Class” will be held by Instructor Courtney Wagner at 5 p.m. at the Tell City-Perry County Library.

Registration is done at the library.

$15 per wreath and limited to 20 people.

Deer Creek Pantry

TELL CITY – Deer Creek Baptist Church Food Pantry, 6733 Alamo Road, Tell City, is open the last Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The next pantry will be available on Saturday, July 30.

WTC

TELL CITY — The William Tell Center, 1301 11th St. in Tell City, will host live bands on Saturdays in July from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Admission for members is $5 and for non-members ages 12 and up is $6.

The WTC also hosts Line Dancing Thursdays from 6-8 p.m. Admission is $5.

Tuesday, July 12, there will be a free cinema day at 1 p.m.

On Thursday, July 21, it will be a midday pitch meal with Bingo. Bring two $1 items.

Everyone is welcome. No smoking or alcohol.

Admission is $5 for members, $6 for the general public.

Aquagym on Mondays and Wednesdays

PERRY COUNTY – Perry County Wellness & Everbody’s are teaming up to bring FREE water aerobics and swimming lessons to the public.

Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 to 6:45 p.m. at the City of Tell City JFK Pool.
