Bring your friends and family to celebrate the arrival of fall at Island Farm on the first four Saturdays of October, as Island Farm will host its 10e annual pumpkin event.

There will be no shortage of fun memories to create, with a diverse range of fall games and activities available.

This event will take place on October 2, 9, 16 and 23 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission for visitors aged four and over is $ 8. Children from 0 to 3 years old are admitted free. This event is partially funded by the Outer Banks Visitors Bureau.

This year’s pumpkin will be full of pumpkins – locally grown in County Chowan by a descendant of Island Farm.

During the event, visitors will enjoy historical games, doll making, candle making, free gifts for blacksmiths and a whole new range of fall activities.

The finest wood-fired popcorn, fire-baked corn cakes, and apple cider will soothe taste buds as visitors soak up the sights and sounds of fall.

Take a trip through the straw bale maze, or take part in “Pumpkin Chunkin” and test your pumpkin-throwing skills, straight through the farm pasture with a traditional trebuchet.

In addition to farm activities, there will be a variety of local art vendors and locally grown produce to buy on site.

Island Farm, located at the northern end of Roanoke Island, takes a trip back in time to the 1850s Outer Banks. Open Tuesday through Friday, the living history site offers live interpretation, Daily mini-programs and special weekend events. The farm is located at 1140 N US Highway 64, north of Manteo, on Roanoke Island.
